Once an IEP has been Affirmed it cannot be Edited or Deleted. If the Affirmed IEP has an error that needs to be corrected, SEIS recommends using the Correction process.
Please Note: This is the SEIS Best Practice recommendation for documenting a correction to an IEP. Please be aware that individual SELPAs may have specific guidelines. Check with your District/SELPA for their policy / procedure.
How to make a correction to the Current IEP
1. From the Current IEP, click the Amendment Tab.
2. Fill out the Amendment form and use the date of the correction as the Amendment Date. SEIS recommends stating the reason for the correction in the Purpose of Meeting text box. Please check with your local SELPA for guidelines on content.
3. At the bottom of the form, select Yes for the question, Does this Amendment require Additional forms.
4. Click the Edit icon next to any IEP forms that needs to be corrected.Please Note: The IEP date that is at the top of all IEP forms has been replaced with the Amendment date.
5. Once all corrections are completed, click the Return to Amendment button, at the top of the form. SEIS recommends that users Affirm the Amendment right away. Remember, you will not be able to affirm another Amendment or a new IEP until this Amendment has been affirmed.
6. Click the Save / Affirm Amendment button.
7. Select the Purpose of the Amendment (Correction) and if there is parent signature. Then click the Continue button.
8. Select the IEP forms that were edited.
9. Click the Submit button to complete the Affirm.Click the Print icon next to the Amendment to view/print the Amendment forms. From this page, users can also enter comments about the Amendment, or add additional Attachments.
