When a goal is added to an IEP, it should remain on the Future IEP until the next Annual IEP is held and affirmed.
By leaving the goals on the IEP until the next Annual IEP is affirmed, you are documenting that the Goals/Progress was covered during the meeting. After the IEP has been affirmed, go to the Future IEP and delete the old Goals.
SEIS' Best Practice is that you use the Goal Title field, to indicate the goals "status". You can title the goals: New, Current or Delete after Affirm. The Goal title does not print out on the form.
Deleting Goals from the Future IEP before the Progress Report has been affirmed will remove the goal from the Progress Summary page. Therefore, removing all documented progress.
